French Super Intelligence company @MistralAI just released the open weights for Le Chonk, also known as Mistral Large 4. It's a 1T-parameter MoE with about 52B active, a 1M-token context window, image input and three reasoning modes. It scores 26 on Artificial Analysis, which makes it the best open model built outside China, though it's still 6 points behind DeepSeek V4.1 Flash and GLM-5.3. Cost per task dropped 63% from the preview, and the API costs $0.70 in and $2.10 out per million tokens.
