"Out of memory" doesn't always mean "rewrite your code." Software fixes, like smaller batches and memory-saving techniques, are worth trying first. But sometimes the model simply needs more memory than the card has, and no amount of tuning changes that. When that's the case, the simplest fix is a GPU with more memory for the duration of the job.
