Apple’s programming language is getting serious about Linux.

Apple’s programming language is getting serious about Linux. Swift 6.4 is here, and it now uses the same build system across Linux, macOS, and Windows. Swift Build is now the default for Swift Package Manager, giving developers a more consistent build experience across all three operating systems. The release also brings cross-platform process APIs, built-in SBOM generation, and improved WebAssembly support. Swift has worked on Linux for years, but this release pushes it further beyond the Apple ecosystem.
