I uninstalled VS Code. It sucks — too bloated. But what's a real alternative? Most of the new editors just fork VS Code, glue an AI chat on top, and ship Cursor or Windsurf. Same pile, new skin. That's why I use @zeddotdev — the first one that felt like a truly new editor! Written from scratch in Rust. Not VS Code. It has an agent on board, git, and enough extensions that I stopped needing the VS Code museum. I still prefer terminal agents for the actual coding work, though. But Zed is what I open when I need a real editor. It's amazing! Try it out, and if you want to learn more about all
