Volcano Engine open-sourced OpenViking, a context database for AI agents that puts resources, memories and skills into the same file-like namespace. Everything lives under viking://, with L0 summaries, L1 overviews and L2 full content so an agent can judge relevance before loading the details. Retrieval is hierarchical too: it searches the directory structure, narrows the candidates and reranks what remains. In OpenViking’s LoCoMo evaluation, adding it pushed OpenClaw, Hermes and Claude Code above 80% accuracy while cutting input tokens by 34% to 91% versus their native memory baselines. GitHu
